Convention 2008

Learn the joys and challenges in working from home.

Carla Hayes, our convention coordinator, has again planned a well-rounded set of activities for IVIE and its friends during the annual ACB convention. To register for all IVIE events except for the expo booths, please go to www.acb.org

On Monday, July 7, 2008, from 7:00-8:30 AM, IVIE will have its Breakfast and Business Meeting. While eating a traditional breakfast, you can enjoy meeting other business owners and friends.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2008, ACB members and friends can visit the IVIE Business Expo from 4:00-7:00 PM. Blind and visually impaired business owners will showcase their products and services and answer your questions.

On Wednesday, July 9, 2008, IVIE is holding a Lunch and Program session from 12:30-2:45 PM called “Entrepreneurs' Cyber School”. You will learn about internet marketing techniques and the access technology products that will help you to start and grow your business.

Presenters at this session are:

  • Ron Milliman of Gorilla Marketing in Bowling Green, Kentucky
  • Robert Miller of Easy Talk Computers from Tallahassee, Florida

From 2:45-4 PM, IVIE is Cosponsoring the second segment of the Employment Committee Seminar.

Next we’ll hear from a panel called: “Working from Home” facilitated by Peter Altschul of Organization Development Specialist in Columbia, Missouri.

Panelists will include:

  • Jim Mullaney, President of Edoc Marketing in Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Mike Mandel, Professional Musician in New York, New York
  • Ardis Bazyn, President of Bazyn Communications in Burbank, CA
  • David Wilkinson, Western Region Blindness Products Specialist, HumanWare in Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Myrna Votta, Technical Support Specialist of HumanWare in Brooklyn, New York

If you wish to purchase booth space for the IVIE Business Expo, please send $10 per table if you are an IVIE member or $25 per table for nonmembers to: Sila Miller, 2201 LIMERICK DR, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32309-3506.
